A new set of features is now live in the latest release of the ConnectyCube Chat Widget! This update focuses on providing more flexibility, enhanced stability, and better user experience. Whether you’re integrating the widget into a full-screen app or refining the look and feel for your users, these updates will make communication easier than ever.
1. User Login/Signup form support
In response to user requests, we’ve added the ability to support a login/signup form directly in the widget. This feature enables the widget to be used as a standalone chat application, especially useful when displayed in full-screen mode on a webpage. Now, users can log in or sign up easily before starting a conversation, providing a more integrated experience for your users.
This feature is perfect for those who want to offer a dedicated, app-like experience while keeping the full power of the ConnectyCube Chat Widget. This can be a marketplace, SaaS platform, or support system – this functionality allows only authenticated users to access the chat, making it ideal for platforms where account management is important.
2. New Single View mode
We’ve added a new mode to the widget to further enhance the user experience. Alongside our existing modes – single view, split view, and embedded view – you can now choose the single view mode. This mode focuses entirely on the chat window itself without any options to open chat lists.
This functionality mimics a traditional support chat interface where users can contact support representatives or start conversations on-demand. It’s perfect for businesses that want to provide a clean, distraction-free communication channel for customer support or quick inquiries. With a single view mode users are immediately focused on the conversation, allowing businesses to offer better and more direct assistance.
3. Hide “Attachment” button in chat input
To provide more control over the chat interface, we’ve implemented an option to hide the attachment button in the chat input. This is especially useful for scenarios where file sharing is not necessary or when a simplified, cleaner chat experience is preferred.
This feature can be easily controlled through a simple prop:
attachmentsAccept = null
Disabling the attachment option allows you to focus entirely on text-based messaging, simplifying the interface and creating a more efficient chat experience for your users.
