ConnectyCube has added End-to-end encryption via OTR

Posted by Charlie on August 20, 2018

Hi,

We have great news today – ConnectyCube has added End-to-end encryption via OTR!

Off-the-Record (OTR) Messaging allows you to have private conversations over instant messaging by providing:

  • Encryption: No one else can read your instant messages.
  • Authentication: You are assured the correspondent is who you think it is.
  • Deniability: The messages you send do not have digital signatures that are checkable by a third party. Anyone can forge messages after a conversation to make them look like they came from you. However, during a conversation, your correspondent is assured the messages he sees are authentic and unmodified.
  • Perfect forward secrecy: If you lose control of your private keys, no previous conversation is compromised.

You can check more information how to implement this functionality in our documentation.

Your feedback is highly appreciated!

ConnectyCube Content Moderation Tool – How to Work With It

Posted by Charlie on August 16, 2018

We are pleased to introduce ConnectyCube Content Moderation (Trust & Safety, TnS) tool, with which you can replace inappropriate words with mask. To facilitate functionality usage we allow to upload your own file with words, no need to create rule for each word separately.

Not only single words could be banned – you can forbid sending email addresses, phone numbers etc. by using regular expressions. Also, you can manually ban specific users for some time period or even forever! You can check more in our documentation. Here is also a blog post on Medium about different use cases of ConnectyCube Trust & Safety tool.

We are also planning to add admin users with extended permissions, who will be able to delete messages of other users and ban them.

Stay tuned!
